Hi,

I’m Miao, a product and user experience designer with 6+ years of experience and a solid background in design. Currently I’m in Berlin. However, sometimes I run away from German winter for some vitamin D. Then you can find me in China, Thailand, or other sunnier places.

What have I been doing?

I’m working at Law & Innovation, a Berlin start-up company. We are a small team background in legal, tech, and design. We are building a novel product ecosystem from 0 to 1. Prior, I was an in-house designer at uCloudlink, a telecommunication company in Shenzhen. I led the GlocalMe mobile applications and their derivatives, I also had hands-on experience with web and SaaS.

I was involved in some short-term projects too. At Fraunhofer ISI, I developed a web tool, that provides personalised recommendations and explanations for optimising household energy systems. I consulted on user-centred design approaches to the high performance comupting team at Max Planck Institute for Meteorology. I also assessed and identified UX and cultural issues for Ableton ’s checkout flows together with great people from Favorite Medium.

Other than above, being heavily benefited from generous designers, I also want to contribute to open source community. Recently, I’ve been working on Giraffe, a Figma plugin for exporting frames as GIFs, with @Raphael. He’s the real code master, I’m more like vibe coding. Together with him, we are building Cow Defense as well, a small tower defense game. I’m responsible for all the visual elements. Meanwhile, I’ve just started to manage @Miaoblabla, an Instagram account where I try to collect relevant psychology and behaviourism theories for designers. This will be forever an on-going project.
